My second street exhibition on Zazit Mesto Jinak

Also this year I raised interest in exhibiting on this great street festival. It was its 11th anniversary already. Number of streets are closed down in the city for people to walk where cars are usually driving by. Good food, beer and music, culture programs mostly for children, juggling and this. If only the weather was a little better. Like the past 2 weeks before this very Saturday. Oh well! :)

But I must admit, that most of the day, despite not being sunny, was without actual rain. Until 6PM! :)

See you next year again.

eating time!

This must be one of the best times for them. When children are let alone at the kitchen desk, they truly enjoy themselves. Tobi's favorite must be anything with cocoa, while Timi is happy with some bread crust. :) Are your children enjoying the eating time too?

Children like sand

One day we decided to buy a sandbox. Our sons love sand, especially at the sea. While it is difficult to bring sea home, it is not impossible to have a sandbox on your balconi. It became a private sandbox and the kids love it. The good thing is it is only a few steps away from the living room, so when we are at home it becomes an easy target. :)

Bubbles

Bubbles. They are so simple, yet so much effective. Children love them. The more, the better. All you need is a bucket of soapy water, a man who does the job and a big square with lots of children. I had all three yesterday. Children are great. When they are drawn into the game, they forget about the outer world. I wanted to delve into their world for a while. It was only a few minutes, but it was worth it.

On aikido training

Last week I was shooting children on their regular aikido traning in Aikido Vinohrady, Prague. I never took photographs of martial arts before, so it was quite a challenge. The children were aged between 8 and 13 and they trained in a gym located underground without any natural light. They were acting very naturally, practically as if I was not present at all. This helped me a lot to capture their "originals". I also learnt a bit about aikido and I must admit I liked it. Find below a few photos from the traiing or visit my FB album, for more.

Bathroom stories revisited

Flowers at second glance

I buy flowers every now and then. It brings life into the living room and smile to the giftee. Seldom do I realize that they are ideal candidates for shooting close-ups. Flowers can reveal amazing textures, colors and shapes when looked at closely. This time I shot this beautiful pink gerbera using my old Helios lens with extension tubes.

Tourism

Every time I decide to roam through the Prague city center, there is guarantee that I meet thousands of cameras held by thousands of tourists. Last week, after work I went to meet Charles bridge.

Bathing

One of the most popular activites of the day..

Subway people

I commute to work daily via subway. I often find myself waiting for the train and my cellphone camera is a good candidate for killing that time. I specifically like the motion blur of the arriving train in contrast with the people waiting for the train..

Foam party

My son Tobi recently started to enjoy the foam in the bath. He can spend hours lying like this. Some people simply know how to relax...

Get a photo model for free

Sometimes you get lucky by being somewhere at the right time. When we walked the beach promenade in the south of Fuerteventura, I noticed this girl and her boyfriend who were just setting up to do some photo shooting on the beach. I was close enough to take out my camera and pretend I am shooting the sea view. It is a win-win, because I do not have to instruct anybody, nor ask for permission to shoot really. Plus it was a really nice day to enjoy this magnificent view..

Live music on Vaclavske Namesti

When you take a walk on Vaclavske Namesti in Prague, you almost always come across some music performance. Today I happened to see this instrumental street band. The music was s good, that my son Tobi was fascinated by them. :) They played two violins, one contrabass and one accordion. Maybe you run into them, too!

I love sunny Sunday mornings

It is one of those great times. You wake up late (or until your kids let you sleep), have a relaxing breakfast and then just laze about in the living room. When all this is topped with warm sun rays shining through the windows, that is when I reach for my camera. I want to record these times of relax, joy and fun. My family serves as great subject for portraiture. Look yourself.

When then winter sun comes out into Prague city center

I was just on my way to work and I happened to take the route across the city center. The sun was sharp and the weather warm. In these situations I am glad to at least have my Blackberry smart phone with me to capture some point-and-shoots. The shadows were amazing and all I had to do is find ideal subjects. It did not take too long.

Fotoprojekt 52

During 2015, I was participating in Fotoprojekt 52 created by Perfect Picture School Of Photography. Each week there was a new topic for which one picture had to be submitted. It was challenging and made me think about each assignment. If you are interested in my submitted photos, you can find them on my website.

Exhibition of photos from cycle "From work, through window"

In September 2015, I exhibited my photos from cycle "From work, through window". The exhibition took place within a street festival "ZAZIT MESTO JINAK" in Prague. The cycle consisted of 30 selected photos in A3 format. The photos were shot during a couple of weeks over my work assignment in Stockholm in the beginning of 2015. My work window was placed above a busy crossing in the city which made it an ideal spot for photographing the street life.

Park Photo Contest 2015

The 2015 topic was Architecture. I submitted 3 photos and all of them made it to top 20. One photo (bw) finished second, so I received this nice trophy! :)
